Nico Feirer was born in Bünde on June 1, 1969. Educated as an industrial sales representative, he joined Volkswagen Group logistics as a trainee after completing his studies for an advanced degree in business administration in 1996. From 1997 to 2000, he worked as a program planner for engines and transmission supplies and then as sub-department head for the development of supply and capacity management for purchased parts until 2001, before working as assistant to the board of management for Procurement and Logistics at the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand.
Back in Wolfsburg, he became the head of operational capacity and supplier management in Group Procurement in 2004. Starting in 2006, he became the head of the Committees, Investment Management and Change Management Department. One year later, he was given the job of developing and managing the newly created board-level office for Group procurement. In 2010, he became the managing director of Volkswagen Procurement Services GmbH, with responsibilities for global IT procurement. Since 2015, he has been the departmental director for the procurement area Group and Brand Services & IT. As of 2018, he became the divisional director for Global Series Control, Procurement Processes and Systems in Group Procurement.
