360factory: Die Audi-Produktion der Zukunft
Mit der “360factory” hat das Audi-Team rund um Produktionsvorstand Gerd Walker einen Plan für die Audi-Produktion der Zukunft. Im ganzeinheitlichen Ansatz des Premiumherstellers spielen der ökologische Fußabdruck und die Attraktivität für seine Mitarbeitenden eine ebenso große Rolle wie Wirtschaftlichkeit und Flexibilität im Fertigungsprozess.  

Auf dem Automobil Produktion Kongress am 16. Mai 2024 spricht Gerd Walker über Herausforderungen und technologische Lösungsansätze.

With the "360factory", the Audi team led by Board Member for Production Gerd Walker has a plan for the Audi production of the future. In the premium manufacturer's holistic approach, the ecological footprint and attractiveness for its employees play just as important a role as cost-effectiveness and flexibility in the manufacturing process.   

At the Automotive Production Conference on May 16, 2024, Walker will talk about challenges and technological solutions.

Bio:
Gerd Walker wurde am 1. Februar 1970 in Reutlingen geboren. Er startete bei der AUDI AG als Werkstudent für Maschinenbau im Jahr 1997 mit einer Diplomarbeit in der Konzeptplanung zur Kleinserienfertigung. Nach seinem Diplom an der Universität Stuttgart folgte 1998 seine erste Stelle als Konzeptplaner in der Produktion bei Audi in Ingolstadt. In der Zeit von 2002 bis 2006 bekleidete Gerd Walker verschiedene Positionen in der Technischen Entwicklung in Neckarsulm und Ingolstadt. Zunächst war er im Versuchsfahrzeugbau für die Beschaffung und Herstellung von Versuchsteilen zuständig, ab 2004 übernahm er die Projektleitung für den Aufbau des Vorseriencenters auf Entwicklungsseite. Von 2005 bis 2006 leitete er die Materialbereitstellung und Instandhaltung der Technischen Entwicklung. Ab 2006 verantwortete er die Produkt- und Prozesstechnik Karosseriebau und Exterieur im Vorseriencenter für die weltweiten Fahrzeuganläufe. Von 2009 bis 2012 war er als Vorstandsreferent für den damaligen Produktionsvorstand tätig.Im September 2012 übernahm Gerd Walker die Geschäftsführung für die Fahrzeugproduktion bei AUDI HUNGARIA in Györ. Ab September 2016 wechselte er in den Konzern und übernahm die Leitung der Strategischen Produktionsplanung in Wolfsburg. Von Juli 2018 bis Januar 2022 leitete Gerd Walker die Volkswagen Konzern Produktion in Wolfsburg. Seit 1. Februar 2022 ist Gerd Walker Mitglied des Vorstands der AUDI AG, verantwortlich für das Ressort Produktion und Logistik.

Gerd Walker was born on February 1, 1970, in Reutlingen, Germany. He first worked at AUDI AG in 1997 as a working student in the field of engineering, writing a thesis on concept design for small-series production. After finishing his degree at the University of Stuttgart, he took his first job as a concept designer in the Production division at Audi in Ingolstadt. In the period from 2002 to 2006, Gerd Walker had various positions in Technical Development in Neckarsulm and Ingolstadt. At first he was responsible for the procurement and production of test components for the construction of test vehicles; from 2004, he was project manager in charge of setting up the pre-series center, on the development side. From 2005 to 2006, he managed the provision of materials and maintenance in the Technical Development division. From 2006, he was responsible for product and process technology, body construction and exterior, in the pre-series center for the worldwide production of new models. From 2009 to 2012, he acted as Board speaker for the Production division. In September 2012, Gerd Walker took over the management of vehicle production at AUDI HUNGARIA in Györ. In September 2016, he moved into the Group and managed production strategy in Wolfsburg. From July 2018 to January 2022, Gerd Walker was head of Production at the Volkswagen Group in Wolfsburg. Since February 1, 2022, Gerd Walker has been Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, responsible for production and logistics.
